Working in collaboration with Avient Corporation, Agile Ultrasonics has demonstrated that its novel approach to continuous ultrasonic welding of polymer composites can be applied to join multi-axial thermoplastic laminates to large format 3D printed parts as an exoskeletal strengthening and lightweighting option. Data from this work shows that the company’s novel approach doubled the bend strength over baseline of 3D printed stiffener parts.
