Please join IACMI to learn more about an exciting new pre-competitive project to develop production capable steel tooling for high pressure molding of reinforced composites, with goals of 80% reduction in fabrication time and over 50% reduction in cost. This project is open to all IACMI members who elect to participate. This project will leverage emerging technology from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 3-D printing of large metallic structures.
The goal of this multi-year project is to progressively produce tooling that is larger and more durable, reaching tool sizes of approximately 50 sq.ft. and able to mold hundreds of thousands of parts.
