Eatai Roth is an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Office of Advanced Manufacturing (OAM), which also serves as the Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office for Manufacturing USA. Eatai earned a BFA in Painting and Art History from Washington University in St. Louis before pursuing a BS and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and the Johns Hopkins University, respectively.
Prior to joining NIST OAM, Eatai was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Data Science at Gettysburg College, an Assistant Professor of Intelligent Systems Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington Institute for Neuroengineering (UWIN). His research has explored the underlying mechanisms of perception and movement control in diverse systems such as flying insects, humans, and robots.
