-
Re-manufacturing, Recycling, Reuse

The REMADE Institute has issued a fifth Request for Proposals (RFP) representing a $45 million investment to sustain U.S. Manufacturing through research and development of transformational technologies to increase the recovery, reuse, remanufacturing and recycling of metals, polymers, fibers, and e-waste. This funding opportunity will be matched by project participants for a 1:1 cost share.

TRADITIONAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Projects will develop tools and technologies that are consistent with the research priorities in the REMADE Roadmap. These projects will develop tools and technologies that compliment the current R&D Portfolio and can be led by any qualified organization including industry, academia, or national laboratories.

TRANSFORMATIONAL RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT & DEMONSTRATION

Projects will develop and demonstrate technology solutions that have the potential to transform the recycling and remanufacturing industries. These projects must demonstrate the technology solution will produce secondary feedstocks that manufacturers or remanufacturers can use and will be led by industry.

EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Projects aligned with the EWD Roadmap will develop short courses used to educate, train, and develop the incumbent workforce for careers in Re-X (recovery, reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling). These projects will focus on three district competency levels: Awareness Level Training, Practitioner Level Training and Expert Level Training.
