Mark Schmit is a Special Advisor at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Office of Advanced Manufacturing (OAM), which also serves as the Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office for Manufacturing USA. Mark received a business administration degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Science degree in business administration from Johns Hopkins University.
Prior to joining OAM, Mark worked, in multiple leadership capacities, for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership. Since 1991, Mark has remained dedicated his energies toward ensuring that American manufacturers have the advanced materials, tools, expertise, necessary to efficiently and reliably produce the goods needed for our national defense and maintenance of quality of life.
At OAM, Mark works with Federal agencies that share a common mission of assisting manufacturers and manufacturing in their adoption and innovation of new process and product technologies.
