Manufacturing USA continues to pursue its mission of strengthening U.S. global leadership in advanced manufacturing by connecting people, ideas, and technology to solve industry-relevant challenges. The network’s institutes serve as hubs for key technology areas including automation, biomanufacturing, and cybersecurity, ensuring that what is invented here can also be built here.
The 2025 annual report details the impact of each of the 17 institutes and their members, which include organizations in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. The network is based on collaborative public-private partnerships that support the goals of increasing the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing, facilitating technology transition, accelerating the development of advanced manufacturing, and building support for the network.
In Fiscal Year 2023, Manufacturing USA launched the Modern Makers initiative to showcase the range of career pathways available in advanced manufacturing. Overall, the network demonstrated the importance of its unique public-private partnerships in driving the future of U.S. manufacturing.
Highlights of the institutes’ work covered in the report include:
- Worked with 2,900+ member organizations, including over 1,300 small manufacturers, increasing the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing
- Facilitated the transition of innovative technologies into scalable, cost-effective, and high-performing domestic manufacturing capabilities with over 920 applied research and development technology projects
- Accelerated the development of an advanced manufacturing workforce by engaging 150,700+ students, workers, and teachers in workforce training opportunities
- Promoted a network of institutes that build long-term support for and within their communities by leveraging base federal funding of $160.4 million to attract over $379 million in additional funds from state, federal, and private funds.
