Manufacturing USA continues to accelerate advanced manufacturing through large-scale public-private collaboration focused on technology, supply chains, and workforce development.

The report highlights a year of significant growth and strategic investment across the network. The network managed over 900 high-priority applied research and development projects, engaged more than 150,000 workers, students, and educators in workforce programs and training, and partnered with over 2,900 institute member organizations across all 50 states and Puerto Rico. The network's work supported manufacturers of all sizes—nearly three-quarters of institute members were small or medium-sized organizations. The institutes attracted $379 million from state, federal, and private sources, in addition to $160.4 million in base federal funding, for a 2.4-to-1 co-investment ratio. The network’s investments drove growth and innovation across various advanced manufacturing sectors, including automation, biotechnology, and cybersecurity. 

A skilled workforce is vital to strengthening domestic manufacturing. During this reporting period, Manufacturing USA launched the Modern Makers initiative, sharing the career stories of 16 individuals nominated by the institutes. Their experiences can change how manufacturing careers are viewed and inspire the next generation of innovators.

This report details how Manufacturing USA institutes are securing U.S. global leadership in advanced manufacturing by boosting U.S. manufacturing competitiveness, facilitating technology transfer, advancing manufacturing innovation, and fostering community support to ensure ongoing success.
