Industry 4.0: Closing the Loop Between Visionary and Practical

The Fourth Industrial Revolution has prompted manufacturers to digitize their factories, uniting information technology and operational technology to create a cyberphysical network. This technology showcase will address the need to close the loop between innovative thinking and practical application — with an emphasis on the advantages of being an early adopter. MIT’s Dr. Neil Gershenfeld will speak on breaking down boundaries between digital and physical worlds, and attendees will get to connect with Dr. Gershenfeld in an interactive session to discuss his work, “Assembling Assemblers.” Participants also will explore MxD projects and hear industry perspectives on closing the loop between pilot and practice.
