Topic: Addressing Thermal & Packaging Challenges in SiC Power Electronics
Presenters: Caleb Burgess and Evan West

Caleb Burgess is a Systems Engineer at Marel Power Solutions working on development of new core technologies for Marel's thermal management portfolio. He has experience working both at start-ups and multi-national companies and brings this experience to Marel with research and development and scaling of designs for customer applications.

Evan West serves as the VP of Mechanical Product Engineering at Marel Power Solutions, bringing a strong background in Aerospace R&D. He’s passionate about bringing Marel’s groundbreaking power converter technology into production.
Abstract: In the fast-evolving world of electrification, Marel Power Solutions is redefining how power electronics are designed, built, and deployed. This talk will explore Marel’s innovative approach to silicon carbide (SiC) power stacks, which sit at the core of inverters used in electric vehicles and broader high-energy applications. Unlike conventional methods, Marel’s proprietary packaging and cooling technology enables significant advantages in size, weight, cost, and most importantly, thermal and electrical performance.
