AIM Photonics and NY Creates PIC and Packaging Capabilities Shared with California DREAMS

Electronics, Optics

As the U.S. advances its domestic microelectronics prototyping through regional innovation hubs, access to scalable photonic and packaging capabilities is increasingly important. California DREAMS, led by USC’s Information Sciences Institute under the Microelectronics Commons program, is one of eight regional hubs established to support onshore microelectronics hardware prototyping.

In a recent presentation to California DREAMS, David Harame, AIM Photonics Chief Operating Officer and Senior Director at NY Creates, provided an overview of the organizations’ 300 mm silicon photonics platforms, heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging capabilities, along with education and workforce development programs supporting the broader microelectronics community.
