LIFT, the Department of Defense-supported national advanced materials and manufacturing innovation institute, has officially welcomed more than 1,000 students to its Puerto Rico Learning Lab since its launch this past April.
Students from across the island, some traveling more than 90 minutes, have participated in the Learning Lab’s hands-on programs. Their commitment highlights both the urgent need for access to high-quality technical education and the growing enthusiasm for careers in manufacturing, robotics, and engineering. By the end of 2025, the Learning Lab expects to see 1,500 total students.
