NIIMBL will receive up to $1.5M from the foundation to support the development of innovative technologies to reduce the cost of manufacturing biopharmaceuticals. This grant provides a valuable resource for leading scientists and subject matter experts from the NIIMBL community to develop manufacturing technology solutions that increase speed to market and lower costs for biopharmaceuticals to improve healthcare outcomes for all patients, including those in under-served markets and developing nations, through enhanced access to life-saving medicines and vaccines.

“The innovations needed to address global health needs are well-aligned with the innovations that the NIIMBL community is pursuing. We are incredibly excited to collaborate with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to address society's need for access to safe, effective, high quality medicines.” said Kelvin Lee, NIIMBL Institute Director.
