The first rally, held at Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit brought nearly 100 people to interact with the hands-on displays and learn more about the programs offered by the three Detroit-based partners.

“These rallies are all about bringing people together and putting them in touch with the right programs to help them get back on track to a successful career,” said Kathy Laird, vice president automotive operations at Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.

The rally included: a 3D printer and vegetable races from TechShop; “Baxter,” a collaborative robot – or COBOT – from Wayne State University; and a virtual welding machine from Grand Rapids Community College.
